Sunday Favorites

The most common question I get asked is how I manage a healthy lifestyle and a clean diet while enjoying life. It actually is simpler than you might think.
I have one day, Sunday where I can eat anything I choose from my approved grocery list. I choose the clean, healthy foods I love like apples, berries, brown rice, sweet potatoes, and steak. This is the day I allow for going out to a restaurant and enjoying time away from my home.
The following are the "going out" meals I rely on when I go out-
Breakfast at Mimi's Café
I choose the Fresh &Fit, Five-Alarm Santa Fe Egg White Omelet. The Omelet includes diced jalapenos, onion, cilantro, tomatoes, and chipotle sauce. I omit the chipotle sauce and add avocado. In addition, I ask for all strawberries without sugar instead of the fruit they usually add as a side.

Lunch at On the Border
I order the Sizzling Fajita Salad with Steak salad. I omit the sour cream and cheeses from the salad and add fresh avocado. Instead of dressing I request extra salsa. The hardest part about my visits to On the Border are the bottomless chips and salsa. In case you were wondering, that part is not on my approved list of foods.

Dinner at Applebee's
I order either a steak or chicken breast without any butter or sauce. My side is all broccoli or mixed steamed veggies. I am sure to make sure the server knows no butter on anything.

I love eating out and with a few simple rules I set for myself, it isn't difficult. I drink water, unsweetened iced tea, or coffee. Grilled chicken, grilled steak, and egg whites is always my go to in any meal. I always request no sauce or all sauce on the side and I ask for no sugar on any fruit I am eating. A lot of places now offer brown rice as an option, also.

Finally, I am of the opinion that there are no "fast food" options on this day. Some may disagree with me, but I do not bother with the drive-thru.

The Investment is Greater Than Money

I have been thinking a lot about the investment a lot of us define as “Bikini Competitor”. Yes, being a bikini competitor comes with a price tag. After you consider your suit that OF COURSE must have lots of bling, dresses, makeup, tan, training, coaches, food, etc… it all adds up.

Despite the money investment there is a greater investment for me, my time. My time, my ambition, my planning skills have all been invested in this competition. To me those things are the most valuable. Yesterday I wrote on my rearview mirror with expo marker, “Protect your investment!” Everyone should follow this quote. You don’t need to compete to have an investment. How about school, being a mom, or simply setting a goal to feel better? Have you not invested time, heart, and effort in to those things? Setting a goal is the same, no matter what the actual desired outcome is.

My goal is to become an inspirational part of people’s lives. My goal is to be successful in the fitness industry and establishing a career. I have invested time, my heart, my effort in to setting a good example and learning. It is genuine, it is a real investment. Some of you are moms, some of you are students. Do you not invest in your goal? The point I am trying to make is to PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT! Guard your heart, guard your goal, and most importantly BELIEVE IN YOURSELF. Give 110 percent to your investment, your goals! There is no quick fix, the reward usually doesn’t come fast, but if you work hard at it every day you can make your goals reality.

Glam Legacy Fit

Welcome!!
My purpose in starting the Glam Legacy Fit Blog is to have a place for women of all ages to go to access inspiring information and stories from other women.
I am currently studying for my NASM personal training certification and I cannot think of a better study aid than sharing the information I am learning with others. In addition. I will share my journey to the WBFF stage in August. To ensure the blog doesn't become one sides, each week I will have a guest post from other women living a fit and healthy life. Mother's, students, fellow competitors... women sharing their journey. Every week there will be a different perspective on living a healthy, fit life.
